Privacy Policy

How Shorts Studio handles account and project data.

Who is responsible

Shorts Studio operates this video editing service. For privacy requests, contact shortstudio.support@gmail.com.

Information we process

When you create an account, we store your email address and a salted password hash. If you choose Google Sign-In, we receive a Google ID token, verify it with Google, and store your verified email address and Google's stable account identifier. We do not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, or other Google account content.

We store the media, audio recordings, project settings, subtitle text, transcripts, and rendered videos that you choose to create or upload. Our hosting provider may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the service, such as IP addresses and request logs.

How we use and share data

We use account data to sign you in, link your chosen sign-in methods, protect access to your projects, and provide support. Google account data is used only for authentication and account linking; it is not sold or used to train models or target advertisements.

When you request automatic speech recognition, the relevant audio is sent to Cartesia to produce text and word timings. Your uploaded video and images are processed by Shorts Studio for editing and rendering. If paid plans are enabled, Stripe handles checkout and billing; Shorts Studio stores the resulting subscription status and customer identifier, but not payment card details. If advertising is enabled, Google's advertising technology may process data under its own policies and any applicable consent choices.

Storage, cookies, and deletion

Account and project data are kept on the service's hosted storage while the account or project remains active. You can delete individual projects in the editor. To request account deletion or access to your data, email shortstudio.support@gmail.com. We will also remove associated project files, subject to any applicable legal retention requirements and backup cycles.

A secure, HTTP-only session cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days unless you sign out earlier. It is used for authentication, not advertising. Google Sign-In may set cookies under Google's own policies.

Your choices and contact

You can use email and password instead of Google Sign-In, and you can choose whether to upload media or use speech recognition. For questions or requests to access, correct, or delete personal data, contact shortstudio.support@gmail.com. This notice will be updated when the service's data practices change.
